Athenaeum Theatre

The Athenaeum Theatre, located at 2936 North Southport Avenue, opened in 1911 . The Athenaeum Theatre has a main stage theater which seats 984 people and three studio theaters seating 67, 81 and 89 people. On the main floor there is a spacious lobby and a food and drink concession in the Curtain Call Club. The theater is convenient to public transportation and to the many restaurants in the Lakeview neighborhood. There are two metered parking lots and street parking.

There are no performances on July 4, November 22, December 24, 25.

Rental Policy	The basic package includes: box office, house management, ushers (through the Saints), notice on the Athenaeum's web site, notice in regular electronic newsletter, one time use of the current mailing list, creation of a mailing list of customers attending the client's event, discounted advertising options. Clients set their own ticket prices. Tickets can be purchased over the Internet through the Athenaeum's web site as well as in person or by phone. The basic package also includes all utility costs, 7 dressing rooms with bathrooms and one shower. The stage from PL to back wall is 32' 6" at CL. The proscenium is 42' 8" wide by 21'0" high, 47' 6" to the gridiron. There is a cyclorama and a stock of curtains. There is a sound system, electrical service capacity of 800 amps/400apms per contact/single phase with dimming equipment and a complement of lighting instruments. The client provides its own technical personnel. Clients must provide general liability coverage ($1,000,000), workers compensation, and property insurance. A security deposit is required upon contract signing.
